[Two young adults stand outside of a house in the Bay Area, a man and a women]

PHOENIX: I just...feel like we move different speeds, you know?

NOAH: Different speeds.

PHOENIX: Yeah, like it's very important for me to have a partner who can be embodied and who can draw energy from the body, and you're on a beautiful journey and I'm sure you'll get there someday, but I just don't think this is right for us right now.

[An Uber pulls up to the curve]

NOAH: Honestly I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure that speed and embodiment are two different kinds of things.

[The Uber driver, BIG MIKE, rolls down his window.]

PHOENIX: See, that's what I'm saying, it's...not about distinctions--you can't always be so in your head.

BIG MIKE: Noah?

NOAH: Yeah, just one sec. Look, Phoenix, I like you, and I'm sorry I've seemed like I'm in my head too much. I've only been here a few weeks and I'm still getting my shit together--I'm dealing with movers and shit and signing up for MediCal and my bike got stuck in the tram tracks and it broke the axel--

BIG MIKE: I can only wait two minutes, man.

NOAH: Yeah, ok, just give me one second, sir. Look, Phoenix, I know I haven't been very present or whatever. I say we give it a second try, and I promise I'll try to slow down or be embodied...and all of that.

PHOENIX: I'm sorry, Noah. Maybe in another life.

[Noah stares at PHOENIX]

NOAH: [sighs in resignation] Fine. It was nice to get to know you I guess. [Gets in the Uber. Uber drives away.]

[Silence]

BIG MIKE: You all right, man?

NOAH: What?

BIG MIKE: You cool?

NOAH: Am I cool?
